I’ve started to write a story and it was recommended that when you are half way through, you start let people know. These are the posts I’ve created to share my world’s backstory.
To create this intro video I created two photo shop images. A before image with a piece of paper on the wood block. Then a second image where the paper has been fully lifted with the team logo on it. Then I gave Kling a prompt to join the two.
For this next shot, I generated an image using Kling and then just added the fog using some existing b roll and zoomed in on the image using After Effects.
In this shot, I built it up in layers. I created the Katana and leaf background in photoshop. Then I created a prompt in Kling for creeping roses to grow down along the blade and to create some movement in the leaves below. I got some pretty interesting results, but I combined my two most favorite shots with AfterEffects. Then I added some mist and smoke just for fun.
This next shot was a bit painful to create. I made the wall in the background in photoshop so I was happy with the crack down the center. Then I started to create the roses with Kling. The creeping roses wanted to grow in every which way, except the one way I wanted them to grow. To get them to do what I wanted I needed to build up successive photoshop images so Kling knew what I was looking for.
There’s still a few issues, such as all the roses blooming at the same time. I think the easiest fix would be for me to fix it up in Aftereffects, but because of how busy I am right now, I wasn’t aiming for absolute perfection. I completed the shot, posted it and moved on.
This next shot is an example when nearly everything goes right. Kling generated the image and then I explained how I wanted it to animate. This is how it turned out.
I was pretty excited after that last blackberry shot and I was looking forward to a similar experience on this shot. It wasn’t. This was another difficult shot. This was an unusual shot for me because the camera is animated. Most of my shots the camera is static. Interesting things happen when the camera starts to move, like other parts of the scene that should hold still start to come apart and move in interesting ways. So I used a combination of the afore mentioned techniques to get this shot. I built up some photoshop references, cleaned some stuff up by hand and merged parts with A/E. It turned out okay and I’m fairly happy with the result.
So this was a easy shot. I actually had the night time typing footage, so all I did was take a still shot and gave it to Kling. I told it to add peach colored rose petals. It generated a beautiful shot. Then I brought it over to A/E and composited the two. Bam. Shot done and it cost me 2 credits to generate.
This next shot surprised me. I actually created a circuit board effect in Blender a while ago, and I’ve been dropping it on top of some of my footage. This time, I took two shots from a video I took of this large tree in Vancouver. Then I asked Kling to make the sunset behind the tree and to add a circuit board overlay the tree. I think I need to generate it just a couple of times. I popped the glow in after effects, and looking at it now, I probably tweaked it too much but I’m happy with the glowing circuit board on the tree.
This next shot was created from a Kling image generation. After Kling generated a piece of glowing metal ore for me, I tossed it in to A/E. I paned across the shot, added some flames, played around with the blending modes a bit on the actual ore to make it look like it was glowing, added some smoke and added some soundeffects. Voila. Another 2 credit creation.
This was a fun shot. Kling added some details at the bottom of the picture that were too explosive and just didn’t look right. Simple fix, I just enlarged the shot, effectively cutting out all of the weirdness and added a some steam and sound effects. That was all me and I was pretty happy with the end result.
This one I got lucky on. I did have to cut some of the shot out because there were these amazing looking sparks, but that would never happen in real life. But other than that, it was pretty clean and didn’t take too much to get this result.
